Cemented carbide is a kind of alloy material made by powder metallurgy process from hard compound of refractory metal and bonding metal. The alloy composed of one or more carbides and bonded metal drills is often called cemented carbide. Parts processing plant is inseparable from cemented carbide.

Cutting is one of the common methods for cutting cemented carbide bars, plates and wires. For cutting grooves or cuts below 1mm, ultra-thin diamond cutting pieces are commonly used for processing.

Diamond resin based cutting blade, in which the outer ring belt is the resin bonded abrasive working layer, and the middle part is made of high-strength and rigid metal, which is mostly used for grooving and cutting at medium and large cutting depths.

In the process of turning cemented carbide parts, the hardness of the tool itself needs to be higher than that of the workpiece to be machined. Therefore, at present, the tool materials for turning cemented carbide parts are mainly high hardness and high heat-resistant non-metallic adhesives CBN and PCD (diamond).

1. For cemented carbide parts with hardness less than hra90, select bnk30 CBN tool for large allowance turning, and the tool will not be broken or burned. For cemented carbide parts with hardness greater than hra90, cdw025 PCD tool or resin bonded diamond wheel is generally used for grinding.

2. When machining the grooves above R3 for cemented carbide parts, for those with large machining allowance, generally, the CBN tool made of bnk30 is used for rough machining first, and then the grinding wheel is used for grinding. For those with small machining allowance, grinding wheel can be directly used for grinding, or PCD tool can be used for profiling.

3. Cdw025 diamond carving milling cutter (also known as flying cutter and rotary milling cutter) is used for rib cutting of crescent groove of cemented carbide roll. For the milling process of cemented carbide parts, CVD diamond coated milling cutter and diamond insert milling cutter can be provided to process the parts according to customer needs, which can replace electrolytic corrosion and EDM process and improve production efficiency and product quality. For example, CVD diamond coated milling cutter can Micro Mill cemented carbide, and the surface roughness can reach 0.073 μ m。
