It has significant corrosion resistance to high concentration chloride solutions such as ferric chloride and copper chloride.

Application fields: heat exchanger, bellows compensator, chemical equipment, flue gas desulfurization and denitration, paper industry, aerospace applications, acid environment.

Characteristics of Hastelloy: it has excellent corrosion resistance to most corrosive media in both oxidation and reduction atmospheres. It has good resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and stress cracking corrosion.

Mechanical properties of Hastelloy

1. Hastelloy alloy comes from Hastelloy and begins with Hastelloy B alloy, which is applied to rocket nozzles of aircraft; Then Hastelloy C alloy was applied and popularized in chemical industry, petrochemical industry, nuclear energy industry and pharmaceutical industry; Then Hastelloy x alloy showed good high temperature resistance, accompanied by the rapid growth of jet aircraft industry.

2. Since the early Hastelloy B, Hastelloy C, and Hastelloy x need solution treatment after welding, otherwise, the corrosion resistance of the welding heat affected zone will be greatly reduced; Therefore, the above alloys have been gradually improved or no longer used;

4. Hastelloy B series alloys resistant to reducing medium are improved on the basis of Hastelloy B brand. 5. Reductive environmental application materials in the improvement process of Hastelloy B series; Hastelloy C series alloys in the redox environment are also continuously improved. Hastelloy C276 alloy has improved the performance of the welding area to a certain extent due to its lower C and Si content, but it is still not very satisfied. In addition, the processing performance has not been greatly improved; However, Hastelloy C22 material solves the corrosion resistance and processing performance problems in the welding area. It is mainly solved on the basis that the material cost is not increased. Therefore, Hastelloy C22 material is the material with high cost performance ratio in Hastelloy C series, and will be applied in larger quantities in the future; The newly developed Hastelloy C2000 material adds Cu to the alloy, which expands the corrosion ability of Hastelloy C alloy in reducing environment, and provides the possibility for better use, higher equipment life requirements and new process trial production occasions.

Hastelloy is an ultra-low carbon, Ni, Mo, CR series nickel based, corrosion-resistant and high temperature resistant material Hastelloy. Because of its good high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance in weld zone, good long-term thermal stability and machinability, it is applied in harsh industrial environments such as agricultural chemical industry, nuclear facilities, biopharmaceuticals, etc. It also has excellent corrosion resistance, uniform corrosion resistance and intergranular corrosion resistance in the medium of wet oxygen, sulphurous acid, acetic acid, formic acid and strong oxide salt. The conductivity and thermal conductivity of Hastelloy alloy are much lower than that of low carbon steel, while the resistivity and expansion rate are much higher than that of low carbon steel. The molten pool has poor fluidity, poor wettability, small penetration and shallow melting depth.
